Very nice campground. Nice privacy between spaces. Bathroom was not as clean as we would have liked. You can easily hike to two different waterfalls.

What a beautiful campground! Huge private sites with water and clean pit toilets nearby each site. A nice supply of affordable firewood with do it yourself transport. Love the multitude of trails, well maintained and easy hiking to fabulous waterfalls and quiet forests. Thank you BLM!

What a beautiful campground! Huge private sites with water and clean pit toilets nearby each site. A nice supply of affordable firewood with do it yourself transport. Love the multitude of trails, well maintained and easy hiking to fabulous waterfalls and quiet forests. Thank you BLM!

Lovely place to camp.
Some good spots with privacy. Lots of people on bikes enjoying the trails.
Water was perfect although no real deep swim spots.
There are the falls with trails and possible swim spot just a 3 minute drive up. Worth going to the falls on a day trip.

Beautiful campground, well maintained. Toilets were kept up and so long as people closed the lid, they weren't smelly. The bugs were insane, but it was super hot and muggy when we were there so maybe that's why. The river was great for wading, and safe enough for kids. Definitely bring water shoes. We brought our bikes and took them down to Alsea Falls, but the trail to the top of the falls is smooth and relatively flat. I wouldn't try a stroller unless it was an offroad type. There are no bbqs, and no hookups. There are multiple water spigots through the campground and dishwater dump stations, and pit toilets. No showers so bring biodegradable soap if you plan to use the river for bathing. There is NO CELL SERVICE until you drive out about 20 minutes. I have Verizon. We did bring a Garmin InReach and that worked, even though there was decent tree coverage. Firewood was $10 a bundle.

I really like the Alsea campground, it’s nice that most sites have a bit of space between them so when those city kids with no outdoors experience aren’t so loud. I also really like that their is firewood despot no campground host. The only thing that I think needs to be improved is cleaning the bathrooms. I used to work for the Forest Service cleaning pit toilets, and I would never leave the inside of the Riser so disturbingly filthy.

From Corvallis: Take Hwy 99W south about 15 miles. Turn right on Alpine Road, follow for approximately 9 miles. Alpine Road turns into South Fork Road. Follow about 4 miles to the Alsea Falls Campground on the right.
From Alsea: Travel south from the town Alsea on Alsea-Deadwood Hwy for about 1 mile. Turn left on the South Fork Road and follow for approximately 8.5 miles (stay on main paved road). Pass the Alsea Falls Day-Use about 0.5 miles and turn left into the Alsea Falls Campground Entrance.
The campground is accessible via Hwy 99W, which is approximately 15 miles north from Corvallis. Alsea-Deadwood Hwy is also nearby, providing access from the town of Alsea.
