What Guests Are Saying
Sutton Campground offers a peaceful and well-maintained environment, with clean restrooms and attentive hosts. Many visitors appreciate the spacious, private campsites and the accessibility of nearby hiking trails. However, some guests find the pricing a bit high compared to nearby campgrounds with more amenities, and there are concerns about tree maintenance affecting RV access. Overall, the campground is favored for its tranquility and cleanliness, making it a great base for exploring the surrounding area.

My family and our friends have been camping at Sutton Campground for approximately 30+ years and we really enjoy the Florence area. We have experienced excellent camp hosts...and not so great camp hosts. The last couple of years, the hosts have been great. Unfortunately, the price of the Sutton campground continues to rise at the same rate as other very popular campgrounds but Sutton does not offer the same amenities. Over the years, two new bathrooms have been added but no showers. Electrical hookups are only offered in A- loop and 4 or 5 sites in B-loop. Reservations are only allowed for A-loop and the group site. Water is only available if you have hoses long enough to reach the outlet and the correct converter to attach your hose. There is no dumpsite available and no overflow parking for campsites with more than one vehicle. The brush and tree limbs have become over grown and scrape against the vehicles when parking. (It gets pretty bad when you have to bring your own clippers with you camping.) As much as we love camping at Sutton every summer, we are looking at other options that offer more amenities and more reservable sites. I hope this review helps.

This spot was to keep us over a night before we moved into the group site. The group site was GREAT. Camp hosts took great care of bathrooms and then pretty much left us alone ( they were nice) Not sure why we hire hosts from Washington but the leadership of this state and all its agencies are a real bunch of educated idiots so not that surprising!!!!!

Great campsite for large groups with dogs as it is very self contained and distanced from others! Open area was super for badminton, horse shoes, corn hole etc
We hated the lights in the shelter and on the side of bathrooms....we would have liked a switch control for the external lights. We all wanted darkness for sleeping, but appreciated those same lights before bed!
I would have appreciated knowing before I came that there was a sink (though a spigot to fill large cooking pots would be good), lots of tables, and 3 grates for charcoal cooking.
Thanks to the camp hosts for being on top of cleaning the bathrooms frequently as we had to share them with other campers outside our group and being there for help when needed! We will come back!!

Camp host is very nice. Bathrooms were always cleaned up. Our spot was very nice...I wish the whole campground had hookups. So many beautiful spots to pick from, but no juice to them. Will still come back. 🙂

The campground overall is very dark. There is very little sunlight in most of the campsites. There is also no groundcover, just dirt. The paved roads throughout the campground are not in good condition with humps and holes.

We go to Sutton every year for a week or two. I have been going there for over 30 years. This time there were 7 of us who camped in three camping spots. Weather was great! The camp host were very helpful and nice. Bathrooms and camp spaces were also clean.
The only thing I wold say is there needs to be more trimming done in the branches of the trees. When backing in, they scrape the top of the RV.
I stayed in A -10.

This is a beautiful campsite. Every site I saw had an abundance of trees and other plants. The bathrooms were clean and easily accessible. Unfortunately, we could only stay for a short time, so I didn't get to check out the surrounding amenities.

Very convenient campground. Clean bathrooms. Sites with electric are mostly darker, because of trees than I'd like. First come first served are mostly more open and more sunny. Some nice hikes from campground. Great kayaking at many local lakes.
