The new camp host, Phil is doing such a great job of keeping the place nice! Bathrooms were mopped and stocked, they even had soap for the first time in years! Makes a huge difference to have someone that takes the time to not just welcome everyone but make the place welcoming as well!

We stayed at the group site 1 for the 4th July weekend for three nights. This was a great campsite for our group. The location was great, by the river so we could just hop into the river for water activities. The bathrooms were kept clean. The camp host, Phil was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our time here. We will be back again in the future.

Such a cute small very clean camp ground! I would highly recommend checking it out. Phil the camp host could not be more amazing! Best host I've had in a camp ground so far!

All of my issues could have been solved with a map online. Booked the group site for 2 cars and 3 people. Turns out the group site doesn’t have it’s own parking spaces, it’s just the day use parking lot. The site itself looked nice, but my group all camps out of our vehicles. So essentially I paid for a really expensive parking spot on a lot. There was nice riverfront access with picnic tables on the bank. The whole river had a brown film and odor when we were there in November. There was full service for AT&T and Sprint, so that was nice. It is less than 10 minutes to Applegate Reservoir.
It’s ridiculous that there is no map of the sites. Even at the campground there was no map.

The river was beautiful. My kids (5-16) had a lot of fun playing in both the shallow, rocky areas and the deep swimming holes. The campsites were a little small and open feeling. The flushing toilets and sinks in the bathroom were nice. One drawback was a big rusty pole right next to our table. Our daughter ran into it and cut herself pretty badly. The trash can was also sharp and rusty, and there were several large holes right around the campsite. The picnic table was also very crooked, which made it hard to sit and cook. We had a great time though, and will probably go there again.

Spot #2 is the best in this small, quiet campground. It is just above the river, with a trail down to a spot that isn't used by Day Use visitors. It's gorgeous out there. The camp host was personable. We will definitely camp here again.

- Cancellations: Recreation.gov collects an $8 reservation fee, which is non-refundable. The campsite cancellation fee is a flat $10 for your entire reservation. EXAMPLE: if you booked (2) nites at $30 per nite, your total camping fee would be $68. If you cancelled at least 48-hours prior to your reservation arrival, your refund would be: $68-$8-$10 = $50 net refund. If you late cancel (within 48-hr of your arrival), you will also forfeit the first-nite camping fee. In this same example, you would be refunded: $68-$8-$10-$30 = $20 net refund.
