What Guests Are Saying
Aspen Point at Lake of the Woods offers a beautiful and well-maintained campground with spacious, private sites, excellent lake access, and friendly hosts. Many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the opportunity for outdoor activities, such as biking and kayaking. However, there are consistent complaints about the outdated and poorly maintained restroom facilities, as well as noise issues during peak times, which detracts from the overall experience.

We stayed at this campground 6 nights. The restrooms and showers are old but not well cleaned. Walls were soiled, rusted and had obviously not been wiped clean all season. I don't mind old restrooms if they're properly cleaned. Shower had standing water to the point we didn't use it. USFS needs to upgrade these restrooms. No one was around to enforce the forest service's "no campfires" rule. On the positive side, hosts were very friendly and the other campers around us adhered to the 10 pm quiet hours.

I would recommend that you use your own toilet and shower if you have one in your RV, the bathrooms need love.

The bathrooms were very dirty, one shower didn't work, the one shower that did work you had to stand in water, it did not drain.
People tied up their dogs and went to the lake where their dog could see them so their dog barked all day, each day. After 10:00 each night, people were partying and being loud. There were dogs barking all hours of the night too, very hard to get any sleep. We camped for 2 weeks, my cousins from Vancouver WA left after 1 week because they needed some rest. We were disappointed in our vacation this year. For many years we have held our family reunion at Aspen Camp Ground and it has been quiet in past years and the bathrooms worked too.
Sunset C.G. has new and clean bathrooms. Are there any plans to improve Aspen's bathrooms?

Always enjoy my time here with friends and family. Camp hosts were friendly. Outside of the fact that the bathroom was not cleaned as often and toilet paper ran out, it wasn't enough to ruin my time there

Not a good experience. No soap in restroom for entire stay. Bathrooms were downright disgusting.

We loved this campground. Great location, clean and beautiful! Some of the sites are close to the cabins/resort and less quiet. I only gave it 4 stars because we couldn’t even have a propane fire. I understand not allowing campfires, but not being able to roast marshmallows with our kids over a propane fire was a big bummer.

The lake and area are amazing. The camphost could be better. Bathrooms were okay for cleanliness but did always have toilet paper so that was good. The camphost let a line of 8 be held up (3 trying to enter and 5 trying to leave) for several minutes while he and the guy on the golf cart sat and chatted in the road. No it wasn't neccesary to block the road for any legitimate purpose, that's not what they were talking about. We love this place and have camped here many many times and will do so again. There have been some wonderful hosts over the years.

Lo e it tjerebeen going for years
They usually run a tight ship but because of covid they have had a hard time finding good employees so it wasn't as good as in the past. The bathrooms weren't keep us like they usually are and lots of loud people way after the 10 pm cut off. But we had a great time as usual
