What Guests Are Saying

Aspen Point at Lake of the Woods offers a beautiful and well-maintained campground with spacious, private sites, excellent lake access, and friendly hosts. Many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the opportunity for outdoor activities, such as biking and kayaking. However, there are consistent complaints about the outdated and poorly maintained restroom facilities, as well as noise issues during peak times, which detracts from the overall experience.

I have been coming to this campground for over 40 years. These passed few years the bathrooms are not kept cleaned. The sone sink in the bathroom has been leaking and broken for a couple of years and not fixed.
There is several spots on the roads that have big holes.

We love these spots at Aspen, they are spacious, close to the lake, close to restroom. The restroom facilities need to be cleaned more often and could also be updated.

Bring your own yellow jacket traps! There are sooo many yellow jackets at the campground. Access to drinking water was good. Bathrooms are in rough shape, but well maintained on a daily basis. Great access to the resort restaurant and store and there's a fantastic wilderness area nearby for great hikes.

Beautiful Lake. Well used, but not crowded. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful, and during the week the campground was very quiet at night. There are lots of picnic tables lakeside for enjoying your day by the water. The Lake of the Woods Resort, with boat rentals and food, is just a short walk on the High Lakes trail which cuts through Aspen Point campground. The trail in the opposite direction leads to a seven mile, well maintained, very scenic mountain bike ride or hike to Fish lake.

Our family campout was fantastic! We were thankful that the weather was great! No fires close by, so no smoke to deal with & the temperatures were great! Great time swimming & riding bikes!

Our camp site was great. Plenty of room between camp sites.
The restrooms were a problem. Dirty and smelly. More showers would have been nice.
I was also baffled that during our 3 day stay the campground full sign never came down even though some camp sites were marked as open.
