Little bit out of the way but worth the drive. Spots along the lake are best. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Great time. Needs better boat ramp. Camp host was let go while we were there. I think this was unfairly done.

It was beautiful and the restrooms were kept clean. My only complaint was the volume of the frogs at night. 🥹

Beautiful setting! Private, yet close to the lake.... We stayed in small group camp area. Already reserved it again!!

Went at the beginning of October and had a great time. Even though it was the beginning of hunting season, it was very quiet and peaceful. Fishing was also great! Will definitely be back!

Walton Lake is beautiful and fun when not overrun by crowds. Fishing can be good with hikes and bike rides plentiful. The issue we experienced during our recent visit in September was; though the campground was only 75% full with enough first come first serve spaces available throughout our time spent there for new arrivals, many camp trailers insisted on running noisy generators for long periods of time every day and often simultaneously. What could have been a nice peaceful and quiet experience was turned into a relatively noisy and annoying experience. There was very little reason for running these generators and certainly not for hours on end. Since it would be difficult to regulate the usage of these units, it is up to individual equipment owners to be respectful. Don't turn your generator on, then go inside for no good reason. Batteries work just fine to power the necessary items for several days running. Unfortunately, it is NOT "we are in this together" rather seems to be "it's all about me" even when camping now days. Even on the opposite side of the lake, particularly set up for tents, I could still hear the generators on the go. I feel sorry for the tent people.

This lake is such a peaceful place, especially tent camping on the north shore. Ospreys and ducks share the lake with the humans. A bear visited the camp one night (not our campsite), so we slept in the car. Only downside is the single source of drinking water for the entire campground, on the south side of the lake.
