We absolutely LOVED our stay at Bluebill Campground!! Stayed 4 nights and it was the highlight of our 3k+ mile road trip. The spots were surprisingly big and private, beautiful trails right at the grounds, and the bathrooms were exceptionally clean.
The host, Kimi, was awesome and worked tirelessly cleaning and keeping up the grounds (we were here over the 4th of July weekend so no doubt she had her work cut out for her). There were unfortunately some rowdy groups drinking and shooting fireworks on the 4th (not allowed) and when we called Kimi she had already contacted authorities, and those groups were out by the next morning. It's really unfortunate that some people don't respect others, but it was handled well by the host and our stay was peaceful and quiet for the next 3 nights!

This maybe could have been a good site under non-holiday or weekend circumstances but we had last minute decided to camp there along our route heading south over the 4th of July weekend so it was pretty rowdy. We expected crowds and occasional fireworks but it went on all night long, too close for comfort. Since we were passing through, we didn't realize that it was in a dunes area where dune buggies, motorbikes, jeeps, etc. are revving up and down the dunes all night long. Maybe during the week it would feel more like a normal camping experience but this was def just a staging area for a party. Then in the morning at 6am a woman was screaming in a fight with another woman at the top of their lungs and it woke up the whole campsite, probably adjacent sites too, and the camp hosts didn't do anything about it, so it went on for at least an hour and a half. We just packed up and left since it just felt like it was only going to get worse. The woman's friends had called the cops on her and as we were driving out, the cops were heading in. Overall I'd say avoid this place on weekends/holiday weekends if you're looking for a mellow beach camp experience... or anything that feels like a peaceful escape where you can enjoy nature and avoid human drama. Or just go somewhere completely different, I can't imagine the engines ever really calm down since the area seems to cater to it.

This campsite is great for something not too out of the way, location to sand dunes, and for a quick trip. We had a great location, but it didn’t have a great spot for our tent. We did find some dog poop at our site and had to clean out our fire pit. There is not a lot of privacy between spaces and there is noise from the sand dunes, but that’s what most people are there for. Bring bug spray for the mosquitos.

The campground was quiet when we were there in May. The campsite was private. There was so much wind coming off the ocean, that it would have been nice to have more of a wind buffer behind the campsite. There were many water faucets, but only one restroom.

Bluebill campgroud, and the camp host particularly, was wonderful. The campgroud was well laid out, clean, pit toilets were very clean and actually had hand sanitizer (which is unusual). The host was very attentive to any needs we might have had, friendly, and dedicated to her job. The only minor gripe I had was many of the campsites are pretty shaded which is not good for many campers rigs that rely on solar to run appliances. We managed and understand that the shade would be welcome in hotter weather. Thank you for a great place and nice experience.

The campsites were reasonably placed and quiet. It was a pleasant walk from the campsites to the ocean. The bathroom facilities were very clean.

Wonderful campground. Most campsites were pretty large. Loved access to beach and trail around lake. Would definitely stay here again.

This campground is located in close proximity to multiple lakes and wetlands. Due to this, there can be an abundance of mosquitoes between the months of April and August. Please be prepared for this. |

There is a 14-day in 30 rolling days camping limit on the Siuslaw National Forest. The 14 days does not have to be consecutive. The 14-day limit covers the entire Siuslaw National Forest and not just this campground as shown in the Rules Section. This means you cannot go to other campgrounds on the Siuslaw National Forest after reaching the 14-day limit. |
