What Guests Are Saying
Driftwood offers a vibrant camping experience, particularly for offroad enthusiasts, with great access to sand dunes and a friendly camp host who is helpful and engaging. The camping area is generally clean and quiet at night, making it enjoyable for families. However, some campers have noted issues like loud noise, limited shower hours, and maintenance concerns, particularly with the bathrooms.

Everyone in the campground was having their things stolen every night, and it ruined our vacation. They keep allowing this to happen night after night year after year.

Bathrooms were gross. Never moped the floors while we were there. Kids riding bikes around camp with no helmet’s all day long. This place used to be very clean. Not anymore!

The people that camped in the dunes had a huge wedding partying all hours of the night. They came in and destroyed the bathrooms. This has nothing to do with the campground or camp host but there should be some sort of rules when camping in the dunes and using the facilities. The campground was clean the host did the best they could to keeping the bathrooms and showers clean.

Really upsetting when you look forward to a trip for months for it to be ruined by the outrageous theft. So bad EVERY night. Had to pack up entire camp each night because chains and steel cables were being cut through like they were paper. Nothing was safe. Gas invehicles, gas cans, generators…etc. Even being chased off by personal protection didn’t stop the thief’s. Really disappointing because we love the campground and location.

The spots are VERY tight! If we do go back we will know to book 2 sites per family. The showers weren't very clean there was a lot of hair by the drain and the water pressure was horrible. Also theft is a big issue. The camp host told us when we checked in to make sure to lock up our stuff (which we always do) but people had been cutting cables and taking generators for the last 13 days.

Our family has been camping/quad riding at Driftwood II for many years. Upon arriving this year, we were told that there had been theft in the campground and we should take precautions. We did - everything was either taken in each night or cabled. Our 2nd night there, our $5000 generator was stolen. The thieves were much more organized than we were led to believe. they used cable cutters at 2:35 am to steal our generator and another one. Although the "hosts" were aware of on-going thefts, we never saw any law enforcement during our stay. When we reported the theft to county, they just sent us an on-line report to fill our. Very disappointing. Also - Although there are 10 showers, only one was open for use. It had very little water pressure and was tempid. Very little care is being provided to the campground.
