What Guests Are Saying
Driftwood offers a vibrant camping experience, particularly for offroad enthusiasts, with great access to sand dunes and a friendly camp host who is helpful and engaging. The camping area is generally clean and quiet at night, making it enjoyable for families. However, some campers have noted issues like loud noise, limited shower hours, and maintenance concerns, particularly with the bathrooms.

WE have been coming to this campground for almost 20 years. It has always been very nice to stay there. Except the last few years, the showers have gone downhill. Especially this year! The water pressure was so low, it was hard to actually get under the water without touching the back wall. The temperature was ridiculous also. My wife never did get any hot water for the couple times she tried. When I took my shower, the water temp. was lukewarm at best. When we asked the camp host, they said only one shower was working correctly. That is crazy with how many people are in the campground. Also, we were there on memorial day weekend. One of the toilets in the men's bathroom went out of service. We came back on June 22nd. That same toilet was still out of service!! Again... with the number of people in the campground, how can that be overlooked. How hard is it to fix a toilet??
Also, the homeless are stealing things like crazy.. I know there is a statewide problem, but this needs to be addressed. We were told that the police had to come from Eugene to address the issues. Why is that? Isn't there any local police in the area that can patrol through the area?? This place used to be a great place to come to camp. But it is slowly getting worse every year.

Terrible customer service by camp host. Facilities below acceptable, showers not working, bathroom dirty during our entire stay, the entire campground was unkempt and dirty. Would not recommend this campground if you have a nice rig RV. No support from campground hosts, never checked us in, was not helpful and mention several times of the rampant theft. Our spots , 5 of them, were not ready upon checkin, after 3pm. Only saw the one campground host during our 6 day one time, and never saw the second host.
So very sad that our tax dollars are used to "maintain" a beautiful area of the Oregon coast and the exact opposite is being done.

Plan accordingly, many of the showers and restrooms were out of order.

WE HAVE BEEN COMING TO DRIFWOOD FOR YEARS, AND IN THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS IT HAS REALLY DECLINED. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE'VE EVER HAD. THE BATHROOMS WERE ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. NO TIOLET PAPER, SOAP OR SHOWERS. WE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH LOUD, RUDE AND VULGAR NEIGHBORS, WE TALKED TO THE CAMP HOST ABOUT IT AND NOTHING HAPPENED. 3 NIGHTS WITH LITTLE TO NO SLEEP. WE WONT BE BACK.

This is more of a parking lot staging area for OHV's than a campground. There is no separation between you and the next RV. We arrived to find someone using our 'camp spot' for their truck and ATV, no camp host to fix the problem. All the spots are right next to each other and the entire campsite is paved. OHV use is the primary purpose, not camping- Go to Waxmyrtle Campground nearby if you want to actually 'camp'. Also the beach access requires a strenuous hike over the dunes, but there are many nice trails to hike on which are more level.
