What Guests Are Saying
Driftwood offers a vibrant camping experience, particularly for offroad enthusiasts, with great access to sand dunes and a friendly camp host who is helpful and engaging. The camping area is generally clean and quiet at night, making it enjoyable for families. However, some campers have noted issues like loud noise, limited shower hours, and maintenance concerns, particularly with the bathrooms.

Not safe. Lock up everything. This is a large paved parking lot. People rolled through at night, cut tie down straps and stole gas cans. Sadly lots of dog poop that owners have not picked up in areas behind paved spaces so your camp area is a mine field. Showers don’t have much water pressure and take awhile to get hot water so pay for extra time :)

I was warned by the Host that there has been a problem with theft…
We had some one cut the straps and steal two full fuel jugs out of the back of a pickup in our group. The night before someone saw a White S10 pickup do a drive through…
The host never visited anyone who didn’t knock on his door…

There is no place to fill RV water on site as the description seems to suggest. Did not see hide nor hair of the resident hosts the entire week we camped. Mid week the place was a ghost town, but by Friday most spaces were filled. Do not leave fuel cans, chairs, or personal items unsecured at night. The locals have the reputation of “shopping” the campground in the wee hours of the morning. Our neighbor lost all his full fuel cans. The dunes are wonderful and made the trip worthwhile but if I were to return I’d choose a different campground.
Also tread carefully around the grounds - most people didn’t appear to pick up after their loose dogs.

Nothing fancy, but nice for camping near the dunes when don't want to go all the way out to the sand with trailers.
