What Guests Are Saying
Driftwood campground offers great access to the dunes and features friendly and helpful camp hosts, enhancing the overall experience for visitors. While the campground is popular and well-loved by many for its atmosphere and recreational opportunities, some reviews highlight concerns about maintenance, particularly regarding bathroom facilities and limited shower hours. The place is pretty cool. It was different being on the south end of the dunes. It's pretty much a parking lot...a very tight one. We were there during the slow season (thanksgiving) so it wasn't too big of a deal but I'm not sure I'd enjoy the experience with the campground being packed. Maybe if I had a longer spot? It's very tight and that's with a slide in truck camper and a 16 foot flat bed. Anyway...I'd definitely go back if it's the slow season.

Nice time of year to go if you don't want to deal with lots of people and if you can handle a little rain.

We've been staying at Driftwood II for a number of years. Never had a bad experience. Good camp hosts, generally well-maintained facilities, and great fellow campers.
Be aware, this is an off-road vehicle user campground... direct ORV access to the dunes and beaches. As such, the campground is a bit rowdier and noisier than others... people like to stay up and "party" here later than what is typical in other campgrounds. Still, the place has always been reasonably mellow (even over long 4th of July weekends).
A short distance from historic Florence and other central coast areas of interest.
If you have quads, sand bikes, or side-by-sides, this is the place to come to ride the central coast dunes and beaches.

Have been going there for years. Only problem was with the showers seeming to last different lengths of time.

Great facilities. We had one camper that was getting rowdy and violating the rules and the host jumped all over it. We come here every year as a tradition and love it.
