A wonderful little spot! Ventured here on a whim and was mildly concerned because it was a campground with availability the final weekend of spring break, but we were pleasantly surprised! The campground is very quiet, except at night when we were bombarded by the crickets and frogs. The sound of OHVs was noticeable, but never went too late into the evening. The trail around the lagoon is lovely, and we are already planning to stay again in the future!

This is a beautiful campground in a great location beside the Siltcoos River, with lots of wildlife and wonderful trails that pass through dunes and wetlands to the Pacific Ocean less than a mile away. But I was there in March, when the campground was almost deserted because the days are short, the weather is rough, and few visitors travel to this part of the Oregon Coast. By May, all of the big state parks and USFS campgrounds in this area will be open and likely filled to overflowing with hundreds or thousands of ORV owners, ORV renters, and commercial ORV tour operators who drive their sand vehicles at all hours of the day and night. ORV use is strictly limited to designated areas, but those areas are huge and the noise made by high-revving ORV motors cannot be escaped anywhere or at any time on this particular part of the Oregon Coast between Memorial Day and Labor Day. After that, most campgrounds will close and most ORVs will go into storage for winter. That's why fall and winter are the best seasons to visit here if you prefer to experience the outdoors in relative quiet or solitude.

Great camp ground, have camped there for years. Bring back first come first serve. Reservations are a pain when traveling for short stay. Do not become California with reservations only. Your income will drop with reservations only.

We showed up Friday night about 8:00 pm to our campsite, #20 and another RV was in there. She stated that she had been there since Thursday and had also booked the site for Friday as well. We double checked our receipt and ensured that we had booked the site Friday and Saturday. The lady refused to leave and the camp host was off duty. We ended up staying in a nearby empty site for the night. The lady left our spot around 6:30 am Saturday morning.
