The camping location was situated near a river on both sides of the campground. Potable water was an added benefit. Restrooms were close and clean. There are only 10 campsites, which was perfect for our camping experience.

The camp host is amazing! Very nice lady very helpful and told us about different places to hike and go look at as we had just got married at the went camping for a week after! We went to the falls right by the site and then went on a hike and saw some other falls then got lost a little lol but still was a very fun time!

Spot #3 might be the best of the bunch. It's a bit off to the side and has a raised perch to pitch the tent that is a few feet above the car park area. There is a private river access and it's close to the communal access on spot #6. Would love to stay there again. My kids had a great time, and it was gorgeous.

From Willamina: Take Willamina Creek Road, to Coast Creek Road, to Gilbert Creek Road, to Bald Mountain Access Road, to Bible Creek Road to the Nestucca Byway.
From Carlton: Take Meadow Lake Road west 12 miles, continue onto the Nestucca Byway.
Dovre Recreation Site is accessible via the Nestucca Byway, which connects to other local roads. There are no major interstates or highways within 25 miles.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Fires & fuel
- Campfires are allowed only in designated fire rings or BBQ grills; no rock campfire rings are permitted.
Pets
- Pets are welcome but must be leashed and all waste must be disposed of properly.
Fees & deposits
- There is a $5 fee for additional vehicles, payable on-site; keep the receipt visible.
Site types & loops
- ATVs and ORVs are prohibited in the recreation site.
Safety & rules
- Be aware of log trucks on the Byway year-round; conditions may be hazardous in winter.

- The site is remote with no cell service or electricity; sites may have space limitations.
