Many trees have been removed from several campsites. I understand the need when trees are sick or a hazard. It would be really nice if a replanting effort was made. Some sites now have no shade at all. Others have no privacy. Another suggestion would be to flatten out at least one tent spot in each site. Last, when people make a reservation and then don’t show up there should be a forfeit process such as a 24 hour limit. Many of the best sites were vacant for our entire stay and meanwhile we could not change.
Camp host was very kind and helpful.

Beautiful lake! Slow fishing this time of year. Nice trail along the lake.

Wonderful site, probably our favorite at Suttle Lake. Road needs a LOT of work, though.

Super easy weekend trip from Bend, just outside of Sisters and no back roads needed! Our site was beautiful and very large, way bigger than what we needed for just one tent. We had our own little beach access which would be perfect if it weren’t for the lake loop trail that goes right thru the campsite. Our senior pup was grouchy after dozens of people walked by and we wouldn’t let him say hi. Privacy was non existent (to say the least), which is the main reason why we would be hesitant to go back in the future.
The lake itself was calm in the morning but really rough in the afternoons, making canoeing difficult if you aren’t a fan of tipping over. We bought firewood at the resort for $10 a bundle, and there were many food and drink options there was well if you wanted to pick something up. Toilets were right next to our spot and were clean and not too smelly, lots of flies but that is what you expect with a vault toilet.
Overall this would be quite literally the perfect camp spot if not for the trail and the MANY people who use it day and night.
