The lakeside campsite is ideal, the loud trucks across the lake all night long, not so much.

South shore is a beautiful location with many small private beaches and excellent swimming and boating. From our site 31 we could hear semi truck traffic all through the night. The sound of the traffic was so loud it was difficult to sleep. I would recommend visiting south shore, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, and bringing earplugs for nighttime noise.

I have been coming here for years, and always love Suttle Lake, but this was the first year that we were shut out of our usual spaces...we are hearing that people are programming bots to secure spaces...very sad, especially because our usual space went unused the whole week!!! I wish something could be done to free up spaces that aren't claimed in the first 24 hours.
I would like to especially compliment the 2 people who cared for cleaning the bathrooms each day. They did a great job and were very pleasant and prompt with their cleaning. (It was a man and woman team). Lastly, I was sad to see so many trees gone...I know that they were removed because they were diseased, but shade is really down in some of the spaces. Is there any intention to replant?

The lake is wonderful and good for swimming and paddling. The campground sites are spacious, but could use more trees for shade. The bathrooms are pretty awful, smelly, infested with flies, with no hand sanitizer provided, and often ran out of toilet paper by mid-morning.

We love South Shore, however, this trip was different. First of all the garbage was over flowing, there was no camp host nor did anyone come around so we could inquire. The bathrooms were not serviced ( on their sheet) since 7.11 and only 2 rolls of toilet paper were put in quickly each day which ran out. I’ve gone for years and they were always kept up. Kids swimming off dock by boat ramp and no sheriff on lake as boats were at full speed in no wake zone. CG road is horrible with huge pot holes that my car almost bottomed out.
