The Shenango Recreation Area is situated within the broad, flat, meandering valleys of the Shenango River and Pymatuning Creek. Sharon, Pennsylvania is approximately 7 miles southwest and Youngstown, Ohio is about 21 miles west. Visitors to the area enjoy camping, boating and fishing.

It is a wonderful place to relax. Nice people, beautiful landscapes. The campground is great. You have to load your water before you go to your site and no sewage but the restrooms are clean and showers are hot. You are close to all the restaurants and shopping if the weather is rainy or too hot. The only problem we face is that it is hard to find a good site but when you go the reserved sites are not used.

The campground was good, but be warned that the quiet hours are 10pm to 6am. After a long travel day on Friday, the family was planning to sleep in on Saturday. At 6:15 AM, the shower cleaning crew needed to run a gas powered leaf blower for about 15 minutes. Ruined our sleep since we were close the shower house. When mentioning to the staff, he basically said it is a common problem. Sites were OK, but I won't go back for this reason.

It is a very nice campground. Our site was perfect for our gang as we had boats and kayaks. The only thing was we did not have electric at our site. There was electric 2 sites up from ours. It would be nice if that loop all had electric since it is a small loop. Is there any chance electric could be run down to the few remaining sites on that loop? we were in site 212.
