What Guests Are Saying
Tompkins Campground offers spacious, clean sites with friendly staff, making it a favorite for families and returning visitors. The peaceful atmosphere, beautiful lake for paddling, and well-maintained bathrooms contribute to a positive experience. While some areas could benefit from upgrades, many campers appreciate the reasonable prices and the campground's recent extension into the fall season.

beautiful area. Bench sites are wonderful. quiet most of the time. sites are large and spaced nicely. waterfront sites are especially nice. campground hosts were out and about, cleaning sites up, even blowing leaves off of parking pads. our site was clean and they are very well maintained. will definitely camp here again. no issues parking our 5th wheel on the site. plenty of room, no issues leveling.

We love Tompkins Cowanesque campground. Very peaceful on the Knoll loop or if you prefer, the Bench loop has more going on. Boating on the lake is beautiful. They have sufficient playgrounds and a beach area for swimming. Cell service is spotty but there are areas by the lake that we go to when we need to use our phones. The campground is minutes from Corning, NY and other small communities. We hope this campground can stay open after labor day every year. Fall camping is the best in the area!

Amazing morning view of the lake spots are a bit close to each other but not too bad, my only complaint is that there were a lot of people with dogs from the tv side that walked to the tent side and did not clean up after their dogs

Tompkins is a beautiful campground. We stayed in three different sites because of a mess up by me. But every site was nice. Our last one, #5, we got pelted with acorns. Maybe not best for September. 😊 Beautiful lake, nice walks, campsites spaced well. Would go back for sure!

Great place to camp. It is about 7-8 minutes hike one way from hike-in campground parking. Hauling your gear up and down from the parking can be a pain but the site is absolutely worth it. I would recommend having a trolley to haul your stuff. We stayed 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Will definitely return. RV and main campground is 2 minutes drive from hike-in campground parking.
