The campground itself was very nice, a pretty spot, quiet, and only a couple of minutes walk from the parking area. Here is the bad part... Being the middle of July, the heat was oppressive and the mosquitos were hungry. I probably could have handed that as I have 50 years experience camping in many different extremes, but the kicker was that the deerflies and horseflies were relentless and not just in the campground, but all over the Park. Nice place, but I recommend going there in the winter time to avoid the heat and the bugs!

the sites were well cared for and within an easy and short walking distance. but it would have been nice to have the flexibility to use our small camper for the night since the weather was so warm and humid. visitor center staff was friendly and the park was quite a treat to explore.

Tent sites at Longleaf were clean, quiet, and private. It's a long walk in to sites 8, 9, 10 so be prepared to make multiple trips hauling your gear. Bring firewood, and plenty of water. There are pit toilets, but no running water. Remarkably bug free in the first week of June, nice and shady.

Spent 3 days here. Campground was shady and very nice. Large sites. Staff Very helpful and kind. I was concerned that the Group sites were too close to individual sites, but all campers were respectful and quiet hours were adhered to. Walk in paths were well maintained and easy to pull wheeled cart. I highly recommend if you don't mind hauling your gear to your campsite. One drawback was no water at the campground-you had to get water at the visitor center, or bring your own.

Peaceful, clean, fishing, camping, trekking and cook in the firewood. My dog loved the place.
