I enjoyed Hawe Creek very much however the phone signal is very poor and I would like which sites kayak accessible from the site. Some are but many are not.

Love the campground. Was disappointed that the facility isn’t open year round. We love to camp in the cooler months and could happily see this as one of our favorites. Not sure why all of the ACE facilities have such a limited season. Campground was quiet, well kept and private compared to many others. We already have another reservation

We love this campground and generally camp here twice a season. It is SO much more private and has much more space between campsites than any State Parks we have gone to or visited. Lake Thurmond is great for kayaking. We just went during the week of July 13-20, 2020 and must have picked the HOTTEST week of the year, but no rain and thank God for air conditioning! The couple that had always been the hosts in the past had recently retired (good for them) and new volunteer workers were handling the chores. We couldn't have asked for a better job by Walter and his co-worker. I hope Walter and Sandy and dogs get to stay there as hosts for many years to come. Even during the Covid mess, the bath houses were cleaner than any others we have seen. He pressure washed inside and cleaned, from what I saw as twice a day. Much grateful. Only thing we missed was someone at the gatehouse to control entry. It's hard to get a phone number to speak to someone now to ask for early check in, but we were ok. When we were leaving, we did see a traffic jam of campers coming in on Sunday before 3:00 and it looks like they pretty much put the "nonverbal convincing" on our neighbor to check out so they could get in. That happened because they couldn't speak to a person. Biggest suggestion I have is that I was told there is a chance of keeping it open year round instead of seasonal. We would definitely support that by coming in the off season. I saw a review that mentioned that they had heard the park was closing? Hope that's not the case. Please count my vote to expand the season for Hawe Creek. Thanks.

We had a problem with the outlet for the camper. Camp host said it would be the next day before the contractor could come out. I ask to talk to the Ranger and he had some one out in a hour.
I also heard that they was thinking about closing the Hawe Creek campground. That would be a shame.
We go at least 6 times a year and it is always full. They closed Mt Carmel campground a few years back and I wish they would open it back up.
Sometime it is very hard to find a place to go. We don't need the closed.

We love Hawe Creek! We love the privacy that each campsite provides! Its quiet as well! There was some construction going on but it was not bothersome at all! We will be back next month and can’t wait! This is our favorite place and we will keep coming back!
