This was a nice and well maintained site that wasn’t too crowded, even on a Friday. The nearby lake was nice for paddling and swimming on a warm summer day. Keep in mind that it is a fair distance away from the main black hills destinations.

We love returning to this place every year. Joyce, our campground host, is so friendly and helpful. She is professional and is able to handle unique situations in a professional manner. You can't get a bad campsite and reservations are recommended for the weekend. Fishing is great too!

It's a primitive campsite, yet people seem hell-bent on bringing travel trailers and running generators 24/7. Gone is the peace and quiet Dutchman used to provide.
It used to be paying for a camp site gave you access to the day use spaces. Now you have to pay for that separately. Squeezing every dime out of people for a noisy site. Might as well stay at a KOA.
