This campground was beautifully laid out, spacious sites with plenty of room between them. Only complaint was lack of a bathroom anywhere near the two sites we rented. We were at sites 11 & 13 and couldn’t have been farther from any of the three bathrooms. Unfortunately they don’t show where water and bathrooms are on the map so we had no idea being from CO. But we made due and enjoyed every minute at our campsite. We saw deer from our spots almost daily and could see the lake from the nearest water valve. Camp host was knowledgeable and kind and kept the bathroom we used clean and stocked. Other campers were quiet polite and friendly and we had no complaints. Would definitely recommend and would most definitely stay at this campground again if we decide to explore more of SD. The lake nearby was beautiful although we only got to explore it once as we had so much to do. Campground is located near many tourist features so we spent the 9 days seeing all we could. Truly pleased with our stay, thank you from CO!

Very quiet campground with close access to the lake. Lots of shade cover, picnic table, restrooms and trash cans. There are fire pits and plenty of space at each site for tents or campers. I have stayed here a few times over the last 5 years and have always enjoyed the experience.

Great campground host! We also appreciated the generous space between sites - plenty of privacy. Beautiful lake and trails in the area. No Verizon cell service - which we did not mind. And also noted that most people did not use generators even though there is no electric. The silence sounded lovely.

Love this area of the Black Hills. Dutchman is a quiet campground that has ample space between sites. The campground host is very helpful, too! Highly recommend!

We LOVED this campground! It was quiet, beautiful and the campsites were spaced far enough apart that we didn't feel we were on top of our neighbors. It was remote and had no cell service, which for us was a huge bonus as we really got to have some much needed downtime from the real world!

The lake was beautiful and did about 9 miles of the hike around it. The only reason that I'm not giving this 5 stars is because the bathrooms were pretty gross. Thankfully I had brought a potty bucket so it cut down on the trips necessary. Aside from the outdated bathrooms, we would still go back.

Beautiful area. Very quiet and peaceful. Clean campsites and level. Short hike to dearfield lake and nice drive to the cute little town of hill city. Only down fall was flies in the bathrooms.

Very quiet 9 night stay. Did have 2 nights where neighbor campers were loud well past quiet hours. Would stay again if ever in area.

The road going in needs to be bladed rather badly, very harsh washboards. the site we stayed in is hands down the best site in the campground, beautiful view, the campground was quiet, the evenings were calm and warm, nobody bothered us for anything, the toilets were fairly clean. Overall, a great experience. Will do it again in another month or two.
