What Guests Are Saying
Sheridan Lake offers great tent and RV camping with spacious, shaded sites and a beautiful lakeside location, perfect for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The clean facilities and friendly hosts enhance the overall experience, despite some concerns about limited infrastructure and cellular service. While some campers noted noise from generators and construction, many found the setting peaceful and enjoyable, making it a desirable spot for future visits.

very nice campground, plenty to see and fishing is pretty good. There are a lot of sites to see that are close to the campground, including mount rushmore and crazyhorse monument .

Nice and quiet. The campsites were clean. Nice sz lake for kayaks. Caught a few fish. Lots of other activities near the lake. I metal detected the swim beach one morning (after getting the park rangers permission) and fd several pieces of rusty metal in a newly dumped pile of sand, some hooks and 1 tent stake. We had a great time at Sheridan Lake.

We had a group of Jeepers who stayed there in August. Campsites were very spacious and there were trees everywhere, giving more privacy. The hosts were very friendly and came to greet us when we arrived late the first night. Great little drive-through coffee stand not far down the road, and a large gas station/mini mart is close by. Would definitely stay there again.

This is a pretty nice National Forest campground. It is conveniently located. It is larger than most National Forest campgrounds. The grounds are kept in good condition for the most part. I did not like that they charge $2 extra for having a dog.

Loved the setting. Beautiful along the lake. The wood purchased was of great quality - not the kindling pieces that so many other campsites sell as firewood. We had boaters shining spotlights on us after quiet time which was rather annoying, but ultimately it was a great camp site.

I have been camping at Sheridan Lake for years. I consider it the center of the Black Hills. The campground Hosts I have known for years, they are the best.

No electricity at site. Need to use CPAP and oxygen to sleep. Neighbors complained and we were given option to move to another area which was a better site but not near the water. Overall, we had a good stay.
