What Guests Are Saying
Sheridan Lake offers great tent and RV camping with spacious, shaded sites and a beautiful lakeside location, perfect for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The clean facilities and friendly hosts enhance the overall experience, despite some concerns about limited infrastructure and cellular service. While some campers noted noise from generators and construction, many found the setting peaceful and enjoyable, making it a desirable spot for future visits.

Very nice campground. Swimming area is very nicely cared for. Camping areas are large and have plenty of room

Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this campground reservable on RECREATION.GOV! Without the ability to make advance reservations my family and I would have NEVER had the opportunity to spend the 4th of July weekend in such a beautiful and awe inspiring location as Black Hills NF. It would have been completely unreasonable, and borderline irresponsible, for us to drive all the way up to the Black Hills without reservations and only hoping to find an open first come first served campsite.
Loved our stay here over the 4th of July weekend. The Black Hills are spectacular and have so much to offer visitors.
We will definitely be back!

We've been camping a good number of years, and know good hosts and cleanliness standards, as we were Campground hosts in Colorado (White River Nat'l Forrest) for a period of time.
This was our first trip to the Black hills and the area is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately on our arrival to the Campsite the fire pit was not cleaned out, there was debris (cans and wire) in the pit that needed to be removed. As for the vault toilets, they were not tidy at all. There were Cobwebs all around the restroom, dirt on the floor, and simply not well maintained, in fact, the bathroom inspection log Which was set for every other day, was not filled in the entire time we were there (we were there for 4 nights).
This is a very busy campground, so I do give a little slack to the hosts, they were busy pretty much the entire time we were there. The Female host was VERY friendly, and was available to answer questions, however her male counterparts were not. Speaking from experience, this specific campground needs another host to assist with general upkeep and PR.
