What Guests Are Saying
Sheridan Lake offers great tent and RV camping with spacious, shaded sites and a beautiful lakeside location, perfect for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The clean facilities and friendly hosts enhance the overall experience, despite some concerns about limited infrastructure and cellular service. While some campers noted noise from generators and construction, many found the setting peaceful and enjoyable, making it a desirable spot for future visits.

The campground was great, with campers being respectful of others. Since the group I was part of was primarily in tents, we appreciated the lack of generator noise at night. The campground hosts were great! Very helpful and friendly. The only negative I can think of is that the two outhouses closest to our sites had issues. One of them, a two-holer, had one of the doors locked, which I assume, was due to a problem. Another outhouse had a door that could not be closed due to a door-frame alignment issue. This required two of us to attend whenever an individual had to use the bathroom.

Nice views. Close enough to Jewel Cave. Not the greatest toilets.

Lovely space, great host, wonderful site! Construction on 385 throughout the night made getting a good night's rest difficult.

We just spent 5 days at Sheridan Lake with our 3 children each of them with their children, a total of 4 RV's. We enjoyed the stay the campground is spacious, beautiful and close to all activities. We would camp there again. That said I do have a complaint. We reserved to stay 6 days, however 2 of our party had to leave a day early (law enforcement individuals) so we all decided to leave. 3 days before our departure date I tried for 2 days to cancel our last day. The campground office said they could not help us with that and stated it was a "REAL PAIN IN THE A--". We were given a number to call. I tried 3 times to call with up to a 1.5 hour wait time. We had to drive to a location for reliable cell service. It is very unpleasant to sit in a car and wait for assistance. I never was able to get through and I ended up paying for 4 unused campsites . VERY DISAPPOINTED.
I've cancelled state campgrounds before "ONLINE" and always received a refund minus a small cancellation fee. Unprofessional at best!

Loved our campsite. No showers. Only outhouses. We had a non-electrical site in a section designated as such. People used generators which were very noisy. The generators did not run constantly, but noisy when they were in use.

The campsites are large and nicely separated from other sites with trees. Very pretty location. The lake is not near these sites and you would likely want to drive to the swim beach but parking availability wasn’t an issue even on the 4th of July. There is no cell phone signal (Verizon) in the campground.

Our site was #20. Nice and shady but be careful where you set your tent. We had a several inches of rain. It pools all around the fire pit. Just look for the high spot. The water receded remarkably fast. I would have given a 5 but the bathroom door doesn't close which is hugely inconvenient.
