We enjoy this campsite for the most part. We met up with other family and the sites on the map showed they were right across from each other, which they were not. The camp hosts in the "Smoke" sites were too much in our business. "Karen" kept involving herself in our happenings. We came to relax and weren't breaking any rules. She was a busy body. Just leave people be. 🙄 Always enjoy the area though. One other thing. People should be charged online while booking their site for dogs or not at all. Pain doing it when checking in.

The camp host was not accommodating for moving us away from the smelly bathrooms although the camp ground was no where near full. I have read other reviews of the campground mentioning this was possible without purchasing another site. The campground map shown when booking online does not show where the bathrooms are located either. Very disappointed in the service and attitude of the hosts. Would not stay here again nor recommend to others.

Such a great place to camp! Everything is clean and well taken care of! Room for the kids to run and explore! We will always come back every year!

Great place to stay while visiting the tourist sites like Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Fishing, kayaking, and hiking are easy access local to the park. Hill city is close for everything needed, so long trips to Rapid aren’t necessary for supplies. The new park management seems very friendly and professional. I spend my summers in the parks around here and this is probably the best. I would recommend a play area in each loop for kids as it is really geared to visiting families.

I arrived and had not purchased firewood for my camp yet. The main gate was not open to purchase from. Employees in a cart came by and went back to get 2 packs of wood and ability for me to pay by card at my campsite to make sure we could have a nice fire. Awesome place and workers! Our camp was wonderful.

The area is beautiful. However, I would not come back due to the service from the management office not accepting my request for a refund. I missed the block to select military veteran when I signed up and they would not reimburse me. Very poor service to the military service members.
