What Guests Are Saying
Sheridan Lake offers great tent and RV camping with spacious, shaded sites and a beautiful lakeside location, perfect for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The clean facilities and friendly hosts enhance the overall experience, despite some concerns about limited infrastructure and cellular service. While some campers noted noise from generators and construction, many found the setting peaceful and enjoyable, making it a desirable spot for future visits.

The out houses were full. The camping spot everyone park their boat there and walked through our camp site. We couldn't fish or put our kayaks in.

Sheridan Lake is our favorite Forest Service Camp Ground. The scenery is spectacular and with the Marina near by, the experience is one that we always look forward to.

Sheridan Lake was a great campground to be away from the crowds and busyness of the Black Hills, but close enough to the sights without driving all the time. Our spot had lots of trees which made using solar a little difficult, but our generator came in handy when we didn’t have enough power. There is NO dump station which was also tricky, but we made it work. The lake and beach were great along with the large campsites.

The park is gorgeous. The sites are first rate. Access is tight, but that’s fine given the reward of such a beautiful spot to stay.
I did find the staff to be overly policing to the point of almost intimidation. As there was no services whatsoever, things like generators are required. If you got home late and ran the generator one minute past 10. There was a knock on the door. I think somebody came by our site every 15 to 20 minutes all evening to make sure that we were abiding by all rules and regulations. It felt more like incarceration than camping. As a couple caring for three young well behaved boys it seemed a little over the top.
We had neighbours that were treated similarly.
I would still come back to your camp site, however, I would look for a site far from your camp hosts as at 52 years old, I don’t require babysitting.
