What Guests Are Saying
Cedar Pass Campground offers beautiful scenery and a perfect location for exploring the Badlands, with friendly campground hosts and clean, spacious sites that provide privacy. Guests enjoy excellent stargazing opportunities and convenient access to trails and facilities. However, some reviews mention outdated showers and occasional cleanliness issues in the bathrooms, as well as a lack of shade and privacy between sites. Overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and its proximity to the park's attractions.

The Badlands NP is Very Good and we love visiting it. We love the wildlife viewing and rock formations - just beautiful. The campground is nice and the camping spots have nice picnic areas with cover over them. They are close to each other and a lot have parking on the road only. We camp in our truck so it makes it harder to find a place at this campground where we can back in and be off the road to camp. However there are some and even though the campsites are closer than in a lot of other campgrounds people are respectful and it is generally very quiet. The main reason I didn't give excellent rating was the bathrooms and showers were not clean. We look forward to a campground with showers and running water since a lot of the ones we camp in do not have that but this visit the bathrooms were not very well maintained. Otherwise it's a great place to camp if you want to visit the park.

Last minute one night stay in October due to weather. Planned to boondock, but didn’t feel safe with the high winds. Campsite was perfect for an October night with clean showers. I think it would be very hot in the summer…it’s the badlands so no shade. Located right off the scenic drive and a short distance from hiking. Badlands is out of this world and Cedar Pass is conveniently located to explore the park. Spots are perfect for small rigs like truck campers, vans, tent camping. It appeared that larger rigs only had sites with “pull-off” style parking not back in spots.

Easy pull through for our teardrop camper and good power options. No water apart from bathrooms but that may have been due to our October timing. Coin op showers were reasonably priced and clean. The Badlands views were striking on several sides of the campground. One of the best recycling stations I’ve seen in a National Park.

I think the hiking trails near this campground were pretty good. Also, the Vistors Center had an informative program.
