Loved it here. Spacious and waterfront site. There’s a really nice pedestrian path that takes you all way into town.

Cottonwood is a nice well cared for federal campground. We stayed on the north side by the disc golf course. Shady spots along here are great for summer camping.

We have been on the road for about a month and this was a top 10. We got a spot right on the water. It was quiet, clean, and nice facilities. 4 or 5 miles from town…

Beautiful park with plenty of green space and cottonwood trees. It’s nice to not be packed in, enough room between sites. Bathhouses are kept clean and water pressure is great. Hiking and biking path nearby. Fishing on Lake Yankton is allowed, from shore or non-motorized boat. One can canoe or kayak on the lake.
