The only negative about Lock A is the massive hill right before the gate to the park.

Visited June 2024. This was our first camping trip and absolutley loved it. The staff had a pleasant attitude and was willing to assist. If this is the experience to expect, then I want to visit this location many more times. Thank you for making our first experience a great one!

I spent 2 nights here, everyone was very friendly, and the staff was helpful. It rained a bit and quite a few people in tents left, but it was quiet, and my dog and I took long walks, very enjoyable.

Nice family campground. Paved roads good for biking for older folks and kids. Stayed May 10 thru May 18, 2024; site 31. Site has a long back-in, but was easy, and quite level. Good WiFi and cell reception. Clean restrooms. Good view of marine traffic.

Campsite #40: Along the river tent site with electric. Very quiet camp in early season - April 25, 2024. Nice restrooms with clean showers. Be sure to visit the lock at the other end of the road in the day use area.

Bathrooms are in desperate need of updating and are located very inaccessible to most campers. Far too many people running around on golf carts. People allowed to use sidewalk chalk on virtually every available paved surface. No trail maps at the VC. Campers for the most part were respectful but noisy up to quiet hours. Just far too many people allowed to stay in campground that wasn’t designed for the volume of traffic it received.

Great park and has a few sites friendly for oversize rigs (76 ft.). Hosts are very accommodating and great to share with. Do wish the tennis / basketball court had been kept up. Site was clean and mostly picked up. Great rail to trail trail to walk on property. Enjoyed being close to river and fun to see tow boats and barges coming through locks. Trees were trimmed and roads were in good shape. Would recommend this park to my fellow oversize full time RV'rs.

Great small campground . We have camped here for a number of years and still are awestruck by the barge traffic and the skill of the boat crews. Kayaking is very good with little boat traffic and lots of coves and backwater to explore. Rails to trails offer shady biking and hiking. The paved riverbank sites are our favorites , lots of shade no quaterdown gravel which is a huge pain when wet. Happy to note some of our other favorite campgrounds are now using a larger gravel mix. We camp here twice each season.
