What Guests Are Saying
Lock A campground is highly praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. The spacious campsites, beautiful views of the Cumberland River, and opportunities for biking and relaxing are significant highlights. While some facilities, like the bathrooms, are noted as outdated and in need of upgrades, the overall experience is positive, with many guests eager to return.

Our spot was fantastic! Beautiful in scenery and surrounded by wonderful people. Our sight was as close to perfect t as it could be. Only we had a slight hole next to our lantern pole big enough to trip in… several times. That’s the smallest complain I’ve ever had for a camping sight. It really was awesome!

We really enjoyed our time at LockA. Even though it was hot outside the temperature was cooler under the big shade trees at our campsite. Loved being right on the river watching the barges go by every day.

Lock A campground is located by Cheatham Lake / Cumberland River. Excellent location by the water without traffic noise. Boat ramp access to water above and below Cheatham Lock & Dam. Swim area. Playground. access to Cumberland River Bicentennial Trail.
Met several locals camping during my stay. The facilities were clean. I camped at 3 different sites. Sites were basically clean. Trash pick up on site every day. Didn’t see anyone checking sites for trash. Unfortunately someone left a few dozen cigarette butts on one camp site.

Absolutely beautiful campground. Large level sites most on the river, full hookup and great amenities! Loved it!

Campground is very clean and quiet. The sites we’ve stayed on are level and easy to get into. Getting to the campground is a fun experience, reminds me of a rollercoaster ride coming down the hill the the park entrance. Great place to camp!
