What Guests Are Saying
Lock A campground is highly praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. The spacious campsites, beautiful views of the Cumberland River, and opportunities for biking and relaxing are significant highlights. While some facilities, like the bathrooms, are noted as outdated and in need of upgrades, the overall experience is positive, with many guests eager to return.

It would be great if the rangers would set up programs for kids, like more water safety, nature programs and so on

Lock A is always quite. Plenty of bike riding choices to include 9.5 miles [one-way] of "rails-to-trails" biking. Former railway bed converted to walk and ride.

Absolutely love this campgroun. Camped there twice this fall and both times had a wonderful time. Camping along the Cumberland River was relaxing as well as entertaining.

Class b camper van, site #18, October 2020. Beautiful campground, huge sites with concrete pads for camper and picnic table. Trash cans at each site! Nice paved road along river for riding bikes inside the park. Fun to watch the barges going through the lock and by the campground. Big sandy playground. The restrooms are dated but clean. The showers need a serious update. Loved seeing all the families enjoying the park.

Generally a nice facility with a wonderful view of the Cumberland River and the passing barges. But, the washroom facilities were poorly maintained. At one time, both stalls in the men's washroom were out of order and we had to use the women's washroom. This was fixed by the end of the week, but it was an uncomfortable time waiting.
