Chilhowee Campground

Chilhowee was an excellent campground with great facilities. We will return.

Chilhowie is such an incredible campground. The views going up and leaving are beautiful and the on-site lake and trails are really accessible and nice. The campground is well taken care of and there are lots of sites that are fairly private.

Such a beautiful campground. The site was very well maintained and loved the setup. The only thing that I think they could do better on is keeping up with the bathrooms more.

This is our favorite campground. It's always a fun experience and the host is always friendly and helpful!

We had a great little getaway to see how our newly adopted dog would behave in a campground and camper. He passed with flying colors, and so did the campground.

We reserved B19 and it was the absolutely perfect spot! Close to the shower house/restroom, which is why I chose it. But it was secluded and surrounded by trees, butted up to a hill. We watched chipmunks and squirrels all day! Also, there was a stream between us and the parking area with a bridge to walk across.
The literal only downside was the shower. The water temp was perfect but you couldn’t adjust it, even if you wanted to. It has a push button. It stays on for seconds, less than 30 seconds at a time. Makes showering tedious. I finally figured out how to lean my forearm against the button and shower to keep the water steady.

We will definitely reserve this spot again!!

The drive to the campground is beautiful, it’s great to have so many trails close by, and the lake is an added bonus. The campsite was spacious and easy to back in to. It’s a real gem.

I stayed in Loop C in late October. The loopwas nice and had nicely spaced camp sites. My stay would have been perfect except that the host in my loop had an poorly trained dog whose barking was quite an annoyance. The dog started barking every time someone walked past the host's campsite, which was frequently, since many people in the campground, including me, had dogs and they were walking them around the loop. The other people with dogs, however, had them trained not to bark at people or other dogs. My dog is also trained not to cause a disturbance. The only dog I heard barking was the host's dog and it went on all day long. His dog even woke us up a couple of times in the middle of the night with it's barking so I guess it was also set off by anything that moved in the dark. The people in the campsite next to mine had three dogs with them and I never heard a peep out of their dogs. How is one to complain about an out-of-control dog disturbing the peace and quiet of the campground when that dog belongs to the host?

I absolutely love this place! So beautiful! You can hike the Falls or just hang out at the lake and relax. I enjoy camping here in every season. The views are spectacular and the Ocoee dam deli restaurant is amazing!
