What Guests Are Saying
Chilhowee Campground is praised for its beautiful natural setting, well-maintained facilities, and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite for repeat visitors. The campground features clean bathrooms, spacious sites, and a lovely lake for swimming, along with access to hiking trails, including the popular Benton Falls. While the access road is narrow and winding, and some areas may appear dated, the overall experience is highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful camping getaway.

This was our first time camping here and we were excited. The actual entrance to the ground were a bit tricky, however, we finally found it. We experience a warm welcome from the Alyssia and other members of of the camp site. We met 3 brothers, Mitch, Brad and Scott) who helped with our tent. They are regulars bonding here twice a year. Even though it rain both night, it was so pleasant and relaxing while we were there. I encourage anyone who want to try camping to come here to Chilihowee Campgrounds

It was a bit noisy but probably normal for a weekend. Hiking trails were very nice and able to be reached walking from camp. Instructions on getting there making sure to use Oswald Rd should specify coming from the west as we were coming from the east and it is a very rough drive coming off highway 30.
Bathrooms and showers were very clean as was the entire campground. We will return but likely during the week.

The bathrooms in the A-Loop need more cleaning. Just stocking the toilet paper is not enough.

This is our favorite campground and the site we were in we consider the best. The campground is rustic but we like the privacy it affords. The only negative is the men's shower in the nearest bathhouse was not in working order the entire 12 days we were there.

If your rig can handle the drive up it is worth it. Nice level site. Lots of hiking/biking trails. Nice looking beach area(we didn’t use) Awesome views on the way up

The shower at F loop did not work and there wasn’t a working grill at the campsite as stated.
