What Guests Are Saying
Chilhowee Campground is praised for its beautiful natural setting, well-maintained facilities, and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite for repeat visitors. The campground features clean bathrooms, spacious sites, and a lovely lake for swimming, along with access to hiking trails, including the popular Benton Falls. While the access road is narrow and winding, and some areas may appear dated, the overall experience is highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful camping getaway.

Melted electrical panel. No water hookup. Felt unsafe. Had no way to request a refund so left and disputed the charge. Very run down state park.

Great campground. Electric hookup worked without a hitch and the nearby bathroom and shower were great. Nearby hike and lake were gorgeous and the views on the drive up to the campground were spectacular.

Very pretty campground with nice trails. Quiet atmosphere and a nice family swimming area. The cooler mountain temperatures were a nice relief.

The new Camp host are not very friendly. They do not come out and greet you and ask if you need anything. I never did see them come around. I canβt post for than the Martinβs came around all day long talk to everybody what a great experience that was with them. And also Mike and Melody were awesome Campos at the same time

Overflowing trash receptacles throughout the campground, Loops A and B. The trash truck needs to come more often. We were there four days starting on a Sunday, May 22 and left on Thursday the 26th. The trash was not picked up and was overflowing from the busy weekend. The campground was nearly empty during the week, thank goodness. It would have been busier had the sign down by Ocoee Lake not said it was full. Bathrooms are outdated.

Very nice campground but there was no campground host and the dump station was closed. Not having a dump station open was not mentioned on the website when I booked the reservation. Had I known, I would have booked a shorter stay.

Our stay as always, was excellent. The camp sites for the most part are well spread out, so that you are afforded some privacy. Tent sites, not so much, but I guess that is to be expected. Park offers many hiking trails and a large pond with a beach for swimming. Shout out to all of state workers there, especially the knowledgeable Harper Nash. The park is looking for campground hosts, so if that's something you might like to do, talk to Harper.
