For visiting during the off-season in April I wasn’t expecting it to be so popular. Most people were quiet but there isn’t much privacy between sites. Only a handful of RV sites in loop A so hope you don’t get next to the generator happy RV campers like we did. Bathrooms are nice and cleaned daily. Showers, ice, and wood can be found at a little store up the road.

Cosby is a beautiful, welcome-maintained campground. Camping in April, we didn't realize the full season had not started. When we arrived after 6:00pm and read that if we didn't register by noon the next day our site may be given away, it caused some anxiety when the office did not open the next day. A sign somewhere about that would be good. We really liked the outside sink at the bathrooms, but we could not have a campfire at our site A59, because the neighbors' tent pad was was 2 feet away. The path along the creek from the picnic area is a gem. Thank you.

Our stay at Cosby was superb, and we will be coming back for sure! Easy to navigate, clean, quiet, and uncrowned. We enjoying cooking over the campfire and checking out the nature trail.
My only complaint is there was nobody to complete the check in process with. My impression from recreation.gov was that we would need to check in, go over camp rules, and bear proofing information. When we arrived we realized what looked like the park ranger cabin was empty. We drove around a couple laps to make sure we didn’t miss them as we didn’t want to break any check in rules. Some other campers told us nobody was really manning the station and they were pretty sure it was fine to just set up- so we did. If the website listed dates they would have people on site it would be an easy misunderstanding to fix.

Nice location in a quieter section of the park. Sites are older and quite tight. Roads through campground can be almost impossible to navigate with an RV, especially in the morning when other campers' vehicles extend out into the roadway.

A group of us camped at Cosby every October for 25 years. First time back in 10 yrs. Amazing. It rained everyday but we
still had a wonderful time. I lost my black
down coat there. Might have fallen out of m truck. How can I check to see if someone turned it in?

Nice level tent sites. Not too close to adjacent campers. Convenient toilet locations. Several choices for hiking trails from the campground.
