The Cosby campground was clean, quiet and well taken care of.
I was there during peak fall-break and although the Gatlinburg area was overflowing with ridiculous crowds, it was so nice to come back to our campsite each night and enjoy peace and quiet. I should mention that although the campground was full over the weekend, everyone behaved and respected the quiet times, picked-up after themselves, etc. I would recommend this campground to friends and family.

The camp hosts were VERY welcoming and so nice (Pat and Richard)....however we found you "park rangers very cold, border line rude and could of cared less that we were there! We would of selected a better campsite as we were right at the start of a trail, thus not much privacey. We probably would go back to Elkmond in the Smokes next time. We have been in the National Forest campground three times, our first at Cosby.

Quiet campground away from the busy parts of the national park- you will have to drive a distance to get to the main park and trails but worth it for the peace and quiet!

Cosby Campground provides an opportunity to visit a secluded portion of this gem, Smoky Mountains National Park. The road literally ends at CC so with no through traffic, this is your destination, limiting the crowds. Horse and hiking trails along with the camping are really the only activities here BUT the campground is a beauty! The reservation map is a bit deceiving: the campground has significant elevation changes. The lowest portion of the campground is closest to the entry gate. Each succeeding loop is a higher elevation. This helps add seclusion to each successive level of camping. The fall colors here are spectacular!

Probably my most favorite campground in the Smokies! In a quieter section of the GSM, even though lots of folks use the trails that begin in this area. Prefer Cosby to the hustle and bustle around the Gatlinburg entrance!
