We stayed at Cosby Campground at campsite B15. It was a beautiful campsite in a well-maintained campground. The bathrooms were clean. Campsites are little close to one another. We had quiet neighbors, so it wasn’t too bad. We left our stuff during the day to hike and had no issues with anyone messing with our stuff. We will definitely be returning!

Our biggest suggestion is to give people the option to print their reservation card for the campsite online so they do not have to deal with standing in line in a pandemic to get the card. We much prefer campgrounds such as Balsam mountain where the tag is already hanging. We realize Elkmont and Cosby may be too large for the staff to hang them each individually so we thought the printing option would be a reasonable alternative.

Quiet, wooded campground. Beautiful 1 mike nature trail loop criss-crossing stream. Trailhead for 5 mile round trip hike to Hen Wallow Falls. Remote from other points of interest in the park, e.g. 35-40 minutes to Sugarland Visitor Center. Clean restrooms. Shower available at private Cosby Run campground just outside the park ($6.00, no time limit).

We have camped tens of times the past and at one of the campsites our tent severely damaged by the wind. Cosby is one of the safest campgrounds we ever camped. The second night of our stay was highly windy. However, all the wind stayed over the tree canopy and our tent did not even shake. Moreover, campgrounds have a red sticky soil that holds tent pegs vet tightly. Trees are very tall and highly protective. Restrooms were fairly clean but no shower.

Cosby is a beautiful campground close to numerous scenic hikes. Most are not used by everyday hikers if you stay away from the AT.
Restrooms were clean and peaceful surroundings. You are also very close to a small town with plenty of options if you forgot something on your journey.

This is by far the quietest campground I have stayed in. Perfect for tents and small campers such as square drops/tear drops. Bathrooms were clean and sites were well kept.
