This campground is wonderful. It is peaceful and not too busy. We stayed the first week of October and less than half the spots were filled. We stayed in spots 16 and 18. I recommend booking both if you play to stay in one because they are very close together and no privacy between them. But there are a lot of trees between 14 and 16, and then 18 and 20, so having both sites felt very private. Beautiful area. Camp hosts were very helpful and friendly. We felt very welcome. Bathrooms were convenient and clean. We loved our stay there.

This campground is very isolated. You can expect to drive for at least an hour to get to any of the park's main attractions like Cade's Cove and Clingman's Dome. The campground is newly reopened and "renovated". Renovation seems to be limited to having paved the road and the campsites. Little effort was made to make the campsites even close to level. Our site sloped steeply back to front and right to left, making it almost impossible to level the trailer. In addition, the site was not angled properly in relation to the road, so backing in and exiting was unnecessarily challenging.
The only "official" presence in the campground was the host couple (who were extremely nice and helpful), and park mgmt seemed to have pretty much abandoned them to manage the campground on their own. In fact it appeared the entire park was pretty much staffed by volunteers. Rangers were almost nonexistent.

Very quiet, laid back campground. 2 sinks in bath a big help. Great location for that area of park.

This is a renewed campground, and the few electric sites will be fine once the new grass takes hold. Lovely wooded sites, but the idyll is interrupted by the frequent noise of blatting motorcycles. Not to point a finger but we couldn’t hear cars or refined road bikes. Harley groups and exhaust-tuned Asian bikes were vacation spoilers. Unless you like that kind of thing. At 1 in the morning.
And tell your power seeder contractor that grass will not grow on your lovely picnic tables. Ours was covered with the grass mixture.

Stayed for 3 nights. Site was asphalt but is not level. We have to put two 2x6 stack together to lift the rear of the MH. It was also noisy with passing vehicles although you cannot see them. 50A service was good and water pressure was 50PSI.
There is no sewer in site and the dump, you have to drive al around to dump. For the price is was good.

Secluded and quiet. Not a lot to do for kids. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. If coming in a camper bring plenty of blocking, most sites are not level. Higher elevation so it’s about 8 degrees cooler than Townsend.

The Camp Host was very helpful and accommodating. The site was nice and backed onto a wooded area. The bathrooms were clean and we even ran into the attendant filling and cleaning one morning so they definitely keep up with them.

Very clean and nice campsites. Enough privacy via trees and lots of them to hang a hammock. Shower would have been nice with more water spigot.

Nice campground but restrooms aren't great. They are clean but don't smell clean, the urinals aren't in service, just a sink and toilet on the men's side of each bath house and there are no showers. Had to drive to toilets because too far to walk to from my electric campsite. Very few electric campsites here (~10) and only 2 are near toilets, plus maybe 3 more a longer but reasonable walk. This limits your options if you need electric and toilets. Not a lot of privacy here. Plenty of primitive site options though if that's what your looking for. I loved the area but not the campsite so much, so spent as little time there as possible. I would look for better options before staying here again next time I come to visit this area.
