People were great but campground too near to the highway. (It was convenient to town...) Had a great time anyway.

Bottom line: Four stars because the dump station was flooded, so "stuff" came up, instead of going down. And there is no water to flush tanks/hoses at the dump station. Otherwise, This is a very nice campground, having been upgraded/improved while it was closed. I was surprised how many "half moon" pull-off type sites there are in this campground, vs back-in sites. This park is ideal for tent campers or those with small travel trailers. Fiver's, check your driveway length carefully, if you're over 35' there are only a few sites that you'll fit in. Most sites are dry-camping only. The campground has beautiful mature trees throughout and there a number of bathhouses that the host keeps up very nicely. There is a potable water stand just insides the campground (50 yards?) on the left, so you can fill your tanks before parking. This campgrond is right off the parkway, so it's a very convenient and short drive to a number of overlooks and an observation tower. (Note, read the campground website concerning your route in; Lord help anyone who uses a map app and doesn't come in via the parkway.) The parkway is a good road with gentle-enough curves for a larger trailer; however, it also attracts motorcyclists and sports car owners, so you will here vehicle traffic from time to time. However, the noise was never enough to bother us and I wouldn't count this campground out because of it. We'd definitionally stay here again.

Sites are incredibly unlevel. I was afraid my RV would roll away in the night. not sure why the middle section is closed to camping. Seems like the best sites. and easiest access to the bathroom.

Overall experience was good. Loved the location. Disappointed on how uneven each site was. Couldn’t get level even using all our blocks.

Very quiet campground during the time of year I stayed, October. Bathroom facility was clean and well upkept. Some of the campsites have houses right behind them with no tree line to block them out so be aware of that when booking. Also, there are no garbage cans on the back side of the loop so plan to make a walk to keep that out of your camp site, so critters aren't an issue. The views from the parkway are worth the trip, and there is a very easy hike to look rock overlook from the campground.

Campground is off the beaten path so it is quiet and in a great setting. An upgrade to the grounds has just been completed (repaved, bathrooms refreshed) and still is close to all of the favorite local points of interest, Look Rock is our favorite campsite in the Smokies.
