Look Rock Campground

Clean campground, well-maintained, no bear sightings or issues

Nice quiet campsite with spacious sites. Could use a bathroom on the other side by the electric sites.

Had a very nice stay, cooler weather than in the valley below. There is no sign for the campground when approaching from the south. It would be nice to have a few more trails to hike around there since this area is disconnected from the main part of the park.

A quiet and somewhat remote campground. It is not convenient to the rest of the park, but I could still see myself spending a quiet few days there. Campsite was listed as slight grade, but it was pretty steep. Restrooms were clean but very dark to approach at night before the sensor lights came on. Sites are neat and nicely paved.

Great place to camp! Right on the foothills parkway. Will definitely return.

Excellent campground, very quiet and not overrun like stuff you would find near Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. Great way to experience the park. Must do the hike to the observation tower. If you are bringing an RV or vehicle larger than a van do not come in from Happy Valley Road. Switchbacks are terrifying in an RV.

We were pleased to have snagged an RV space with power for our 26 foot trailer and truck. Definitely a challenge getting good directions to the park but foothills parkway on and out is the way to get here. Follow the advice of others and don’t try the “ tail of the dragon” or Happy valley anything. The lookout tower is definitely worth the walk which is challenging but worth it. The bathrooms were clean, we knew there are no showers. What was odd is you just go to your campsite since the office is never occupied. 2 nights there and we never saw any official activity anywhere in the campground. You don’t get a hang tag, just go to your spot? Seems odd that there would be no avenue to resolve conflict if you could not occupy your space. Especially if you can’t make a call. We tried calling the number when we arrive that was listed for facility contact and it was disconnected. The motorcycles on foothill parkway are loud at times, but it was always quiet at night because I think they close the gate down at the start of foothills which is about 8-9 miles. Again very glad and felt fortunate to get the site for 2 nights, just be prepared to be more self sufficient than usual in a park with volunteer host

Grounds nicely kept. Site was nice. Quiet times were followed nicely. Bathrooms were kept decently maintained. No bear boxes on site but had no issues keeping items in our vehicle. Ranger on site was friendly.

Peaceful, quiet and small campground. Clean bathrooms. No showers. Campground has I believe, 11 sites with water/electric. Some have good space between sites, some are very close. Most all are very shaded. Interior roads are good. Camphost was very friendly and helpful. Not a lot to do nearby, but it is within a 40 minute drive of Cades Cove. The Look Rock Tower Trail is nearby and some really good views from the overlooks on the Foothills Parkway. Some road noise depending on when you are there. The motorcycles are mostly what you will hear on the road. Beautiful area and a relaxing place to camp.

Nice campground. The camp host, David was very cordial and helpful when we had a problem. We really appreciated his help.
