What Guests Are Saying
Look Rock Campground offers a peaceful and clean camping experience with well-maintained facilities and friendly hosts. Many visitors appreciate the availability of electric and water hookups at select sites, as well as the quiet atmosphere and opportunities for wildlife sightings, including bears. However, some amenities, like showers and reliable cell service, are lacking, and noise from nearby traffic can be a concern for some campers. Overall, it is a lovely spot for those seeking a tranquil getaway in nature.

Very scenic area. Road noise from the nearby road. Watch which route you take getting there! One is very steep with many switchbacks.

We enjoyed camping at Look Rock campground. Our site 58 had electricity, it was a level area for our camper van. It had a nice pad down below for a tent but we enjoyed relaxing in that spot in our chairs. Sites were nicely wooded. Bathrooms were clean. Campground host was friendly and helpful

Lovely, quiet campground. This is our second visit. Only complaint is the firepit was not cleaned out. Did not see camp host while we were there.

It is long trip on narrow windy roads for big rigs to the campground. If you are towing anything or are a large vehicle note the Recreation.gov warning to avoid certain roads - the switchbacks are very tight. It is a beautiful area but there is little to nothing to do in the campground itself other than hang out at your campsite. As I have found with NFS and NPS campgrounds, the office and host hours are not posted and vary tremendously. Do not count on getting help from either. The NPS map for Great Smokey Mountains NP (in which the campground is located) notes several points of scenic/historic interest, but the map is woefully short on detail as to how to get to any of those points. Unless you have a relatively small vehicle and are up for adventure to take off on small, unmarked roads to explore on your own, there is not much to do. I probably would not return to this campground. With an annual pass, it is inexpensive, though.

The campground is NOT signed at all. You need to take foothills parkway to get to camp, the left on flats road. Otherwise good spot and enjoyable

When we got there we were greeted by the nicest camp host! We ended up realizing we got a small area, but were able to buy a different spot. Unfortunetly, we could not cancel the other spot. We had 4 people plus 2 dogs so buying a different spot was definitley worth it. We ended up having some very freindly neighbors that lived not far from the camp ground. Our kids had lots of fun playing with their grandkids. We went just up the road to a scenic veiw area and walked the trails to a look out tower. Absolutely gorgeous!

There was a water spigot near our campsite that was broken, so we had to drive to refill water containers daily.
Campsite was nice otherwise, although the location was not very convenient.
