What Guests Are Saying
Westcliff offers a beautiful, peaceful location with friendly and helpful staff, making it a favorite for many campers. The park features clean campsites, well-maintained facilities, and a stunning lakeside setting, perfect for swimming and relaxation. However, there are some concerns regarding noise from jet skis and the need for better maintenance of picnic shelter roofs and weeds, which could enhance the overall experience.

We were in #1 on 3/27. After setting up went outside w/our 9# dog and were met by 2 large yellow labs. I yelled to go away and one advanced at us. Had to call park ranger on Monday to report 2 yellow labs running loose that live in house above tent areas. The park volunteer lady heard me screaming at dogs and came over. I told her I wanted to call the park ranger to report. She said they are not around on weekends, so I called on Monday and reported to Ranger Cathy Hill. Then on Tue when walking our dog along tent area a different dog came running down from same house barking at us. Man yelled at us! We called 911 this time. A fence needs to be installed so home owners don't have free access to park.

Needs weeds cut down around campsite #25
Nice beach in day use area - or if you are beach front campsite ( we were not) then its just steps away. Nice view of lake. Another issue was the bathroom had no soap dispenser or soap. Lastly, Friday night loud music blaring until about 10:30 or so...I take it there's not a park host on site. This park has no hiking trails. This is a nice park for a quick get away, and swimming in warmer weather, or if you have a boat nice boating area.

There was a mix up with our registration. We were there 4 days and 3 nights and we moved to a different site each day. On the second day, the site we moved to was faulty. Sometime during the night we lost power. Nothing was working and plugging into our truck was our only recourse. There were several empty spots during our stay that were never occupied.
I understand that people book the sites, but there should be a cut off time for no-shows and those sites should be offered to other people. This is not the only recreation.gov site that this is happening. Give me the job, I am more than willing to removed "no-shows" and reopen those slots for other people.

Been coming here for years. The camp host gate attendants needed to be a little more friendly. It became a joke about them being the Warden, The Karen's!!, We all swore they had binoculars watching everyone's move it made us feel like we were walking on eggshells. It was the talk from many campsites spread out. Sometimes enforcing rules and not being consistent with ALL and being over the top policing the area isn't necessary for little trivial things. Big issues with many was if a tire was even touching the grass here they came even during the rain and hail yelling and whistling at people to move vehicles NOW ! Part of reason we left early. They just need to chill abit 👍

When we arrived, there was a burn ban, completely ruining the weekend and forcing us to bail. There was no mention of a burn ban on the booking website.

This was a beautiful and very spacious campsite. We did have a pop up wind storm that came while we were there and torn up our awning so be careful of the winds. This is a must stay though for sure!!

Westcliff is a bare bones COE park on a large lake. Only very few shaded sites but most sites are waterfront. The staff is helpful and frequently seen driving by all sites. There was no hot water in the women's bathroom during our recent visit.
Live Oak Ridge, a few miles away on the same lake is much more scenic.
