Potters Creek Park is a beautiful and well-maintained campground with large, spacious sites and clean facilities, including highly praised bathrooms and showers. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the park's scenic views, making it a great spot for camping and exploring the Hill Country. While some areas of the park lack shade and the lake levels are low, overall experiences have been positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

This campground has beautiful views of Canyon Lake. We were in site 108 and could sit and look at the lake. Saw deer every evening walking around the area. Deer were everywhere. We could have happily stayed longer.

Well maintained sites and facilities. They will not let you check-in before 3:00 and the lake is extremely low.

Sites were clean and looked great. Quiet since the boat ramp still closed. Very pleasant stay.

Camp was clean. Security was good.
It would be nice to have access to enter camp later in the evening so we could attend a show or evening Riverwalk ride.
Also posting photos of the campsites on recreation.gov would have been helpful.

The campsites were not cleaned prior to our visit. There was animal feces on the tables and on the ground, cobwebs in the rafters, etc. The bathrooms were breeding grounds for mosquitos and other insects. The spaces were good-sized and there was plenty of room for parking. The 3 pm opening of the reservation was not observed, which was good because we arrived early, but might be confusing.

The photos on the site are so inviting. I wanted to celebrate our 44th anniversary camping next to a lake. Immediately after checking in, I got a bad feeling as we approached our spot-(L4-95). The lake was so low, you could hardly see the water. We tried to find a place to swim. The entire lake was closed to boating and swimming. There was no access to the entire lake, even outside the campgrounds. Big waste, we left after 45 minutes and will not revisit Canyton lake in the foreseeable;e future. Drought conditions were never mentioned in the reservation process, and Canyon Lake being closed defeated the whole surprise I had in mind for my anniversary celebration. Big Dud!

Lots of fire ants. Bathrooms were not as clean as they could be. Workers were very polite but understaffed.

The water was hard to get to but once we figured out how to get to it we had a lot of fun. We would definitely stay here again.
