As much as I would like to keep this place a secret, it really is one of our favorite places on earth. My three boys love it. My wife loves it. Me, too.

My second visit to this nice Texas woods. I like the privacy between the water sites. It gets pretty muddy when it rains.

Park ranger presence is needed, especially around the start of quiet hours, which need to be adjusted. When actual campers are at the park, they go to sleep pretty soon after dark. The park was very noisy our first night with people showing up at or after 10:00 PM. We were woken up several times by slamming car doors and loud talking/yelling until around midnight. The second night, there were people playing music until after 10:00, singing loudly and yelling. I get that people want to have a good time but they need to tone it down after dark, and people checking in after dark need to be told to be quiet or wait until the following day to check in. Other than that, the park was great and the managers were very helpful and friendly.

#43: We loved our experience with Double Lake. Our first visit was December 2020 and we fell in love with the Campground. February 2022 we returned to be even more impressed. The hosts were superior, attentive, and seriously committed to their roles as Hosts. Thank you so much Marshall and Toni. The place was well maintained and the restrooms were very well maintained. We didn't use the shower facilities. My husband has AT&T and only had a 1/2 a bar of service which was virtually no service. I had one bar on Verizon and I could receive calls but messages could take awhile to send or receive. Especially a picture. Overall this is a wonderful park and experience.

Very clean and nice at our campsite. We kayaked from the back of our campsite that backed up to the lake.

Nice individual campsites. Plenty of hiking and biking around. Maintenance could be a little better - entrance sign down, bathrooms kinda grungy
