Park needed some repair. View of lake was pretty. It was convenient for exploring the bluebonnets. Staff was friendly.

The campsite right on the lake was very nice. Campsites were not crowded. We did have some complaints about the campground. Only one of the four shower/bathroom stations in the bath house in Loop B was in working order, and even that bathroom had problems with backing up of the sewer line. The bath house and toilet needs major repair work. Also, the roads in the park need to be repaired, as there were a lot of huge pot holes in the road.
We visited during the bluebonnet bloom season, and the drives on the bluebonnet trails were pretty. The railroad museum in Ennis is worth a visit.

Upon arrival . i stopped at office for check in. i looked to see if mask were to be worn, the man had a mask on his wife did not, so i did not put mine on we had a window between us. and since wife did not have a mask on and i was outside i figured it was ok for me not to put mine on. however I got talk to very rudely for not having one on. if he was going to be rude about it His wife should have has hers on to...
Man said you have to wear mask just because state said you don't you have to here he was hateful i told him i was sorry that i did not see both had a mask on so i did not put mine on.. had both people had a mask on i would have put mine on. his wife responded well i just didnt put mine on yet....so i guess it was ok for his wife to not have one on but decided to be ugly to me cause i did not. made me feel very unwelcome. park was clean, bathroom were clean. we enjoyed our family trip. but the rudeness was not welcoming.

Not much for kids to do. 50 amp service but not full hookup. Parking is fine for 3 cars. Gate keeper watches park constantly so you feel safe. Fishing can be good. Good fire ring. Some have grill also. Covered concrete picnic tables. No shade if summer. Swim area close. Ramp close for launching boat. Small old fishing marina which sales bait.
