The park managers were exceptional in providing a well maintained and safe environment for my party. I would visit again without reservation!!

Grass was waist deep. Light bulbs out in the bathrooms, and tree limbs are too low for a 5th wheel to go under. Camp host was very nice and helpful.

This has been our local campsite for 3 years now. Overall, our experience was good.

Was first time staying at Jim hogg park campground, was very disappointed, was there 4 nights and never seen anyone in charge, no one was ever in the gate, locals took advantage of the lack of enforcement of the rules and didn't follow most of them, there was a burn ban in effect and was ignored by several campers, campground was not terrible but could use some work, bathrooms really needed an update as some of the facilities was not working properly, was looking for a place to stay when I come to the area to visit family, guess I will have to try someplace different next trip.

Unfortunately, our last several stays at this park have not been up to par. The lots are not mowed. You must contend with high weeds or revert to mowing the weeds yourself. We did this. All of the lots needed to be mowed. The park attendant is never in the shed to check you into the site but VERY quick to run you down when you are busy setting up to ask for your Vet Card. This is very inconvenient. The park used to be pleasant but has really gone downhill.

this was by far the worst experience I’ve had in over 60 years of camping. Arrived at the campsite to find litter everywhere. We were unable or felt unsafe, having a campfire as the ring was set right next to an un mowed field. Other than the first five minutes, we were unable to find a camp host even during posted hours. The first night a campsite left their music and blinking lights on all night. on Friday night, the campsite next to us, containing two adults and two minors were drinking and playing their music loud into the night. Looked on website to find a phone number for Assistance, none listed. Went to the entrance shack during normal listed hours, no one available to file complaint. We did not speak to the neighbors about their loud music during the day, however, at 11 o’clock on Saturday night we did ask them to lower the music. at midnight, when they raised the music louder, we called in Georgetown police. not only did they have two minors that were obviously intoxicated, they left all three dogs off leash during their stay. they also failed to put any garbage in receptacles until the police instructed them to do so.

We’ve been coming here for at least 7 years multiple times a year. We have always had an amazing time. This time- the grass was high- unkempt, the wasp nests were in full force, rude obnoxious guests blaring their disgusting music all night until 3 am and back up at 8am. We used to get visited my the host to check everyone was valid- noise low , not this time and no one said anything. It kept us awake all night! Horrible- I felt sorry for the people closer to that nonsense! Bathrooms were clean and stocked so that was good. Just seems like the upkeep went down and the people were allowed to do anything they wanted. I think it’s time to look for a new place. Very disappointed with the tall grass.
