Our site was really nice with plenty of elbow room between us and our neighbors on either side, and a good view of the lake. We'll definitely be coming back again.

Really nice, well-kept camp sites. From my observations, spots 30, 32 and 34 are prime spots for sunrise view over the lake.

Our reservation was for November 20 through the 22nd at campsite S008. When we arrived, the campsite picnic table was in very poor condition. It was not functional and appeared to be broken for quite some time. The park host was unable to assist us with a new picnic table and told us we had to change our reservation if we wanted to. I spoke with the park Ranger on the phone. This site has a shelter and there are only a few in the park. The park, Ranger would not simply exchange a good picnic table for the poor one that was there. The picnic table was rotted and rusted as well as one of the angle braces was broken. The functionality of the picnic table was extremely compromised and a safety hazard. Getting assistance from the park Ranger and recreation.gov was difficult and not very considerate of the situation.
I have camped at Jim Hogg Park many times and I am starting to see equipment that is not being maintained. Fire rings are rusted out. Picnic tables are rotten boards. We are very disappointed with the quality of maintenance at Jim hog Park.

Fishing is definitely a hike from most campsites. Everyone was friendly and it was a wonderful stay!

The restrooms at this park really need to be fixed and updated. No soap available to wash hands. Men’s bathroom had no working water in sinks.
Women’s restroom was out of toilet paper.
I didn’t even try the showers.
