Great location for a family camping weekend. We reserved a group site for a total of 16 and had plenty of space. Definitely recommend Jim Hogg park.

This was our first camping experience at Jim Hogg Park. It was a very good experience for us. It was quiet and relaxing. We had a great view of the lake. We plan to go back real soon.

Everything was as expected but there was no hot water in any of the showers. I have stayed there several times but have never experienced this. I am going back in a few days and I hope there is hot water.

Campsites #001 through #079 are some really nice campsites, and many of those down by the main lake have a really nice view, but several of the sites along the lake have large amounts of overgrown underbrush which blocks the view of the lake.
However, the restroom and shower facility in that section leaves MUCH to be desired. First, the toilets are VERY low to the ground. They're stainless steel, but size wise, they're about what you'd expect to see in an elementary school for small children. Next, there's no hot water for showers. Only a button for cold water that will turn off after a couple of minutes, which will require you to press the button again (however many times) to finish your shower. Also, there's no air conditioning which means that you'll be pretty much be using the bathroom or taking a shower in a sauna.
Didn't explore around the entire park that much, so I can't say if the other restroom and shower facilities are any different from the one in the section in which we were camping.

We loved the space, the pavilion and though we didn’t use them, the fire pit and grill … 💚

Love this park. Great access to the lake and large campsites.

Facilities in need of an upgrade and also the ability to handle the amount of camp spots and potential people that could be there.
