About Dana Peak

Dana Peak Campground is located on a peninsula on the shoreline of Stillhouse Hollow Lake in central Texas. The lake offers a wide variety of recreation opportunities, including water sports, hiking, biking, horseback riding, picnicking, large group pavilions, hunting, fishing and more. The facility is one of only two reservable campgrounds on the lake and often fills up on weekends during summer. Stillhouse Hollow Lake was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with the construction of Stillhouse Hollow Dam in 1968. The 6,430-acre lake is located 16 miles upstream of the confluence of the Lampasas and Leon Rivers, which flow into the Little River.

Off season, but still a good spot. No trees, but shade structures over the picnic tables. We were told they were all lost in a flood. A good amount of people fishing on the lake, even though it was very low. Rain needed badly. Sites spaced a good distance apart.

The camp host was so kind and even rushed to bring my wheel chocks, that I accidentally left behind. Luckily, he caught me at the dump station to give them back. We will be back!

The park staff are always friendly and kept us informed of issues during our stay. We lost power due to unforeseen circumstances in the area but staff was quick to respond and let us know. Sites are maintained an very clean. We enjoyed our two weeks even though it was extremely hot. We fed the deer on a few occasions down by the swimming area. Highly Recommend this park.

Absolutely beautiful place, had shade most of the time. Lake was really low, but we managed to stay cool. Definitely pays to have electric and water even if your tent camping. Very dry conditions there , so a strict burn ban was in place. Park personal were absolutely wonderful folks. Wish they would have a longer camping season..

Camping sites clean an area mowed. Great views of the lake from all sites. Shower facility male side ventilation system hasn’t worked for years and hopefully they correct this as the summer heat is increasing.
