Rayburn Park is highly praised for its beautiful waterfront views, well-maintained facilities, and spacious concrete RV pads with covered picnic areas. Campers appreciate the cleanliness of the park, including restrooms, and commend the friendly and helpful staff. While some noted minor issues like biting flies and occasional power outages, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

There are no official COE signage to tell you where the park is located. And don’t follow GPS, use the coordinates. Be prepared for horrendous site parking due to tree roots which tore up the pavement. The volunteer and gate attendant are very friendly and helpful. Staff keeps the park very clean. Covered picnic table was nice.

Rayburn is a very nice campground. It is isolated so you have to want to be there to get there, but the reward is well worth the effort.

My husband & I always enjoy camping at Rayburn Park. It has a beautiful view of the lake at ANY campsite and we even saw young Eagles flying overhead this time! The park is well maintained and the hosts are very accomodating and friendly. This is our #1 pick for camping in East Texas. It is less than an hour from our home, so we try and visit often during the camping season. The lake is also wonderful for boating activities during the warmer months.

This RV park has a lot going for it.
-> It's very peaceful as there are no towns or highways near it.
-> The views of the lake and forest are fantastic.
-> 4 boat ramps on premise with parking
-> playground, which is up the hill and away from the camp sites
-> a Rocky shoreline which puts you above the lake several feet and you don't hear the boat engines as much as on some lakes.
-> The distance to towns also means that night star gazing is awesome.
-> The staff keep it ultra clean.... Maybe too much cleaning as the noise and dust they stir while picking up tree trash was a tad annoying
-> The price.. $26 or $28/night
The few things that people might not like are
-> no sewer hookups at each site, but there is a dumping station. For weekend trips this should be fine
-> not much wildlife... I expected to see more. Only saw ravens, finches, 1 owl and a lot of butterflies. There only a few RVs this weekend so it shouldn't fee scared off the deer, but they were a no show.
-> the first night was plagued by mosquitos. The next 2 nights were not so bad. Maybe my bug zappers got caught up?
-> The 50 amp sites are not waterfront. The big rig owners won't like that, but it keeps them from blocking the view (so maybe I should list this as a positive?! LOL)
AT&T Coverage 3 to 4 bars 4G
T-Mobile Coverage 2 to 3 bars 4G, and only 1 to 3 bars 5G

The camping and access to the water is excellent. The camp hosts were friendly, knowledgeable and present. The only negative is the distance that must be traveled for fuel (diesel) and any major grocery. Powell Park is close by for most needs such as ice or gasoline.

beautiful, friendly caretakers, easy to find, my only complaint would be to add showers for those that are tent camping

Campground is beautiful and facilities were very clean. Temperature in the showers was a bit lukewarm though.

The grounds were taken care of beautifully. The bathrooms were as clean as my house! It was a true pleasure being there. Very relaxing!!!
